Warning: Spoilers ahead for Crazy Rich Asians,I Would Rather Kill You which isn't really a spoiler-y movie, but we don't know your life.

The box office success of Jon M. Chu's Crazy Rich Asianshas sealed the deal and development is moving forward on a sequel.

This is no ordinary followup in our Age of Sequels; the second film will be based once again on author Kevin Kwan's work, this time on the actual Crazy Rich Asianssequel, China Rich Girlfriend.

“We have a plan with Kevin for the next two films,” producer Brad Simpson told the Hollywood Reporter, also referring to the final piece of the trilogy, Rich People Problems.

Chu and Simpson will be joined by returning producer Nina Jacobsen and writers Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim. THRnotes the sequel has not been officially greenlit, but getting the creative team back together is a positive sign.

Crazy Rich Asiansends with revelations about Rachel's (Constance Wu) father, whom she believed to be dead, but who is actually alive and living in Asia, as Eleanor Young (Michelle Yeoh) learned from her private investigator. Much of China Rich Girlfriendfocuses on Rachel's shifting identity based on now knowing her father is out there.

Book fans will be delighted to learn that the sequel will focus on the story of Astrid (Gemma Chan) and her cautious reconnection with an old flame Charlie Wu (Harry Shum Jr.). Some of this was filmed for Crazy Rich Asiansbut ultimately cut, which means it could be center stage in the sequel (and just wait until we get to third one, you guys).

Crazy Rich Asians is now in theaters.
